Danya Kukafka of Trellis Literary Management
Danya is interested in representing literary fiction with particularly propulsive storylines. She is seeking literary suspense, sophisticated thrillers, book club fiction, speculative fiction, and experimental fiction. She also loves true crime that feels attuned to today's cultural conversations, and upmarket fiction you can read in one gulp. Her dream authors include: Megan Abbott, Angie Kim, Oyinkan Braithwaite, Rene Denfeld, Julia Phillips, Celeste Ng, Akwaeke Emezi, Susan Choi, Alex Marzano-Lesnevish, Jia Tolentino, Karen Thompson Walker, and Gabrielle Zevin.

Published titles: Walk the Vanished Earth by Erin Swan, Junie by Erin Crosby Eckstine, A Thousand Times Before by Asha Thanki
Paige Wheeler of Creative Media Agency
Paige has a particular love for upscale fiction and nonfiction that tells a unique story or showcases an author’s deep expertise. She’s especially drawn to high-concept ideas paired with a fresh, distinctive voice — the kind that immediately takes over the page and pulls her in. A clever plot is always a welcome bonus, but above all, she’s looking for stories that fully immerse her from the very first line.

Published titles: The Twilight Wife by A.J. Banner, The Mistress Diaries by Julianne MacLean, On Strike for Christmas and Three Christmas Wishes by Sheila Roberts
Miranda Paul of Aevitas Creative Management
Miranda represents a range of projects in fiction and nonfiction, with a heavy focus on writing and illustration for childrens and teens, and gravitates towards books that include science, nature, or global themes. She is actively seeking to represent more adult projects as well as new illustrator clients.
Published titles: The Juneteenth Story and Oprah Winfrey by Alliah Agostini, Namaste is a Greeting by Suma Subramaniam, A Gift for Nai Nai by Kim-Hoa Ung
Clara Foster of Aevitas Creative Management
Clara works closely with her writers on editorial, and is always keen to find voice-led, character-driven works that engage with the world around us even as they transport us far away. She represents adult fiction, YA, and select non-fiction, and is particularly looking to partner with writers who are looking to build a career from their words, wherever that might take them.
Her fiction tastes tend towards the accessible literary and upmarket, often with a strong female focus, as well as genre titles in the fantasy, speculative, and historical arenas. Anything written with beautiful prose, a high-stakes plot, and/or a folkloric, legendary, or mythical grounding is likely to be a good bet. In non-fiction, she finds herself drawn to expert-led narratives which sit at the juncture of either women, politics, and culture, or women, politics, and science. In the YA/Crossover space, she wants to see clever world-building, emotional (and flawed) characters, and preferably a romantic sub-plot—or main plot. Here however she would like to find writing from authors who push the boundaries even further: new twists on old tropes, high concepts (an idea you can pitch in a sentence), and perspectives we rarely get to see.
Published titles: It’s Not Hysteria by Karen Tang
Kayla Lightner of Ayesha Pande Literary
An adventurous reader who values fearless curiosity, Kayla is primarily looking for adult nonfiction that can masterfully straddle the line between storytelling and teaching readers something new (about the world or themselves) in the form of memoir, journalism/reportage, hidden histories, and prescriptive. More selectively, she’s looking for smart, propulsive literary and upmarket fiction with a speculative or historical lens and graphic novels for all ages.
After managing APL’s subrights department for two years, she’s particularly excited by projects with legs in multiple formats (film, television, translation, etc).
You can find her complete manuscript wishlist here.
Published titles: The Mango Tree by Anabelle Tometich, Why You’ll Never Find The One by Sarah Akinterinwa
